Message	disconnection or cracking. I would start with the large throttle body hoses or accordian pipes if you have a TT. Use a mirror to examine the bottom of the hoses. Your bucking symptoms sound like a big air leak. Especially if it started suddenly. I once had a throttle body hose that worked itself off a bit on the bottom because it was crunched on after a plenum pull and not fully seated. Appeared fine when looking at it from the top, but was just barely meeting the bottom connection and eventually popped off.
